The Angler's Coast

The Angler's CoastBy  Russell ChathamI read this book in a week, and might re-read it again before the new year. Chatham chronicles trips to water in California's Central Valley and coastal rivers - some of which I have fished, some I long to fish after reading. However the book was published in 1976 and recalls even older days when fishing was drastically different. For those that grew up fishing the Smith, American, Russian and Feather rivers for steelhead and salmon or stripers in San Francisco Bay, this book will provide images rank with nostalgia. For those of us that didn't, it doesn't matter. Chatham paints putting a line in water eloquently, adding  pertinent dialog and details like few others I have read.
