Camp 9 - The Kokanee are coming!!!

It had been just over a month since I had been to Camp 9 to fish the Stanislaus. The water was about the same as a month ago until the amount released dropped drastically just after I arrived revealing slick rocks rarely exposed to sunlight. The river itself was longer, extending well past the bridge opening up some really fishy-looking pockets and runs. It's not at all pretty fishing this area that is below the New Melones high level line, but there are a bunch of Kokanee mixed in with some beautiful rainbows and huge browns. As always my favorite patterns are simple: prince nymphs, pheasant tails and black birds nests. I did get one on a Rubber Legs.
