The unknown

Sometimes it's nice when the morning of the first day fishing isn't rushed. I stayed in Angels Camp last night to kick off the fishing trip on the north fork of the Stanislaus and am currently drinking coffee waiting for my buddy Nate - and pondering fishy things. Fishy things are not limited to length, weight and species of actual fish. In fact many have to do with conditions, say for instance the winter storm warning that's been issued for this afternoon. Nate and I should be a little lower in elevation so we won't get snow but might see a little rain. That's fine, of course I have all things warm minus my rain jacket that is neatly hanging over my recliner in my living room wondering why it's taking me so long to take that last load of gear to the truck. It must feel like the guy in the taxi cab in the movie Airplane!
