  • Person wearing a blue hat and sunglasses catching a fish in a river, with rocky and green hillside in the background.

    Colorado 2019

    Fly fishing the Rockies.

  • Person holding a large fish in a net over clear water.

    Kenai Peninsula 2021

Big rainbows and disappointing kings on the Kenai for our Honeymoon.

  • Two people on a boat holding large white fish, with cloudy sky and water in the background.

    Ketchikan ocean fishing

River fishing is my favorite for angling, but when it comes to packing away food in the freezer, the ocean is the way to go and Ketchikan has a lot to offer.

  • A person wearing outdoor camouflage clothing and a tan cap with a 'Vortex' logo, kneeling near water, holding a fish with a shiny, speckled body.

    Southeast Alaska Fly Fishing

The Kenai Peninsula gets the most press, but Southeast Alaska is on the list of every serious steelheader. Though the rainbows aren’t massive and there aren’t kings running up the rivers like Bristol Bay, SE Alaska offers solitude and phenomenal fishing.

  • A person wearing camouflage clothing and gloves holding a large brown and yellow spotted fish in a shallow water body with tall grass surrounding the area.

    Wyoming 2019

It’s not Alaska, but it’s hard to beat big brown trout on famous waters.

  • A fishing rod with a reel lying on a rocky stream bed next to a fish with spots.

    Wyoming 2020

The hunt for Golden Trout took us over rough terrain to some beautiful lakes.

  • A woman wearing sunglasses, a gray jacket, and beige pants is kneeling in shallow water along a riverbank, holding a large fish with both hands.

    Wyoming 2021

Braved the crowds, and managed to escape them, in Yellowstone, and also found some Golden trout east of the park.
