Fishing for debris

Seeing what washes up on beaches has always been interesting. This summer it is with morbid curiosity I look to the shore. While fishing for king salmon and halibut Saturday with my buddy Abe, we spotted a buoy. Rather than the usual thought that it broke from a crab pot, or fell off a boat, we immediately thought of Japan and the tsunami debris that's been piling up on Baker Island among others off Prince of Wales Island. It had Japanese writing. It's cool, but we couldn't help but think of the images of the wave wiping out entire towns and wonder where this thing was supposed to be.
