Lower Sac trip Day 1

I've tend to lean toward little black bugs on the Lower Sac and the big jimmy legs on the Upper. Today, I switched it up and wouldn't you know it, the one fish I caught on the Lower was on a jimmy legs. The previous two trips on the Lower had been less than spectacular, but with the flows at 4000 cfs there were some nice runs that were easily accessible. We arrived a little before one, and fished for a few hours, covering a couple spots above Sundial Bridge. Three hook ups came from the same spot. I only landed one, probably because I am new to nymphing with my 10'10" switch rod. I left my two buddies use my two single handed rods, which forced me to diversify my fly fishing. That's not always a bad thing. Sometimes you have to put yourself at an apparent disadvantage in order to grow. Right? The jimmy legs strikes again. Tomorrow is the half-day float with The Fly Shop. Should be fun.
