Adults don’t really do fetal positions. If we were allowed one, mine would be over the Upper Sacramento River.It doesn’t have the football rainbows of the Pit, the monsters of the Lower Sac, the beauty of the McCloud, or the fatty browns of the Truckee, but it has its own charm. You can walk the studs off your boots, and there are plenty of fish to catch. You might spend most of the day taking little shakers off your zebra midge, but when you get into good fish, the Upper Sacramento browns and rainbows are just as game as anywhere else.The fishing was as expected and predicted by local fly shops. Good in the morning and evening, but tough in the heat of the day. In fact, it was more than heat of the day. I had to take two showers when I got home.
