Episode 75 - "Obsolete" Man Skills
For this episode I'm a total sucker because I'm promoting an article by reacting to it. Anyway, there's a list of 7 obsolete man skills that the 21st Century Man should abandon "if you’re at all interested in being ahead of the curve" that I think embodies the disjointed, unclear message regarding who men are and who they should be. Allowing societal norms or relying on societal approval to dictate a lifestyle might not be the best way to achieve individual or societal happiness. As the book-burning Captain Beatty said in Fahrenheit 451: "We must all be alike. Not everyone born free and equal, as the Constitution says, but everyone made equal. Each man the image of every other; then all are happy, for there are no mountains to make them cower, to judge themselves against.”Encouraging character traits is awesome. Telling boys to become courageous, thoughtful, ethical, empathetic and emotionally available is excellent. Telling them to abandon what makes them happy or connects them with their world because society says that's too last century, isn't helpful.https://soundcloud.com/user-139657843/episode-75-obsolete-man-skills
